Mayor Barnes gives Visitors key to Kansas City

Finally, Kansas City got its first meeting today with the alien Visitors who have come to our planet. Mayor Kay Barnes welcomed Visitor leader Diana to our city, presented her with a key to the city and promised that our city will do all that it can to help the Visitors develop the chemicals they need for their home world. The mayor even offered the Visitors a little TIF money if they'd like to become part of our city's downtown renewal effort.

Diana arrived downtown in a shuttle craft just before lunch and met the mayor inside City Hall shortly before the press conference in which the formal welcome was announced. The Alien leader seemed somewhat startled by Barnes' announcements. Listen to her reaction here.

Visitors will start working in area factories this week, according to an agreement reached between the city and the Visitors.
