Halloween Party gets an unexpected Visitor

I went to my friends' annual Halloween party. It was a good time but quite different from previous years thanks to the curfew that continues to keep Kansas Citians indoors after 9 p.m. The party was during the day this year so that we could spend a few hours together. Last year the fun went well past midnight, but things have changed.

We were all feeling pretty good. I didn't realize how long it had been since we all took time to have some fun. The highlight of the night was when Renee showed up dressed as a Visitor. We all got a good laugh at that - especially when she went around the house "arresting" anyone dressed as a doctor or scientist. She was able to capture Albert Einstein and the people who were dressed up as the cast of "E.R." Good times.

The party ended at 7:30 so that everyone would have enough time to get home safely in advance of curfew. I've been hearing that people who get caught out after 9 have been arrested by the Visitors. I think it's true. One of my neighbors has been missing for two weeks, and the landlord is starting to believe she's not coming back.

Area hospitals report shortage of doctors

I saw a report on the news last night about how Kansas City hospitals are having a serious shortage of qualified doctors. The people who were interviewed implied that the shortage is due to the number of scientists, doctors and medical researchers who have been arrested by the Visitors in conjunction with local law enforcement.

As one hospital administrator put it, "If we don't get some of these personnel back we're going to be looking at the complete shutdown of the hospital system in the area. We're aleady having to turn patients away, and it's getting worse."

President accepts Visitor offer for protection;
seeks immediate shelter aboard Mother Ship

Citing concerns for his safety as the scientific conspiracy continues to unfold, President Bush announced tonight that he and other world leaders have decided to accept an invitation from the Visitors to seek shelter aboard Mother Ships for an "indeterminate" amount of time.

"The Visitors have graciously offered to ensure that this government continues to function, and I accept that offer," Bush said during brief remarks from the Oval Office.

When asked if he feared for his safety while aboard a Mother Ship, Bush had this to say.

Visitor leaders Diana and Steven (pictured) were with Bush in the White House as the announcement was made. The President and his new hosts then left the White House for a Visitor shuttlecraft that carried them up to the Mother Ship now hovering over Washington, D.C.

It is not known if Bush will remain about that Mother Ship, nor is it known how long he'll be in Visitor care. According to CNN, most members of the Cabinet, Congress and the Supreme Court, along with leaders from around the world, are also accepting the Visitor invitation to move aboard Mother Ships stationed across the globe.

I'm feeling some strange vibrations!

I am so glad I braved the rain to walk down to the Plaza today! As I was entering the park I saw this Visitor shuttle flying by and I managed to get a picture (at right) of the craft as it flew over me.

I could feel the strange vibration that I've heard described by other shuttle witnesses. It is a funny feeling to feel how these little ships effect the air around them.

When I got to the restaurant, my friends were too busy talking to care about my picture. They said that people in their neighborhoods had been arrested a few nights ago. I asked if they were scientists and Joe said they were. But, he added, there is no way they are part of any conspiracy.

We all agreed that if that's true, they have nothing to worry about. They can't arrest every scientist in the world, after all. This is still a free country!

Picture perfect: Mother Ship watches over quiet city

Like everybody, I do all of my errands during the day now. Nine o'clock curfew comes pretty early, and I hate to get stuck without the essentials. I went to the local grocery store today and they were selling this postcard (pictured) of the city at night with the Mother Ship hovering overhead. The sad thing is, you sure don't see this kind of view anymore. By the time it gets dark, most lights are out. All except for the ones overhead. I guess I'll keep this postcard to remind me of how things used to be until this miserable curfew is over.
